Product Description
Doublebase Diomed Flare Relief 100g
Why We Chose This Product
- Doublebase Flare Relief is a moisturiser that contains nicotinamide (niacinamide/vitamin B3) at a concentration of 4%.
- Nicotinamde is an anti-inflammatory ingredient. One small study showed that nicotinamide cream reduced itch and overall eczema severity compared to standard moisturisers.
- Nicotinamide increases ceramides and other lipids (oils) found naturally in the skin. Two small studies showed that nicotinamide improves hydration in the skin compared to standard moisturisers.
- Doublebase Flare Relief a gel. Gels are moisturisers that provide hydration to the skin. Gels have a light texture and are rapidly absorbed into the skin. This makes Doublebase feel less greasy than other heavier moisturisers.
- Doublebase comes as a pump dispenser, this is useful as it prevents bacteria from contaminating the bottle.
- Doublebase contains no fragrances or colourings, so it is less likely to cause an allergic reaction (contact allergy) to the skin.
- Suitable for adults and children over 1 year old.
Cautions
- Use of moisturisers in the bath can or shower be a slip hazard
- Moisturisers are flammable. Over long periods moisturisers can build-up on fabric (clothing, bedding etc), making these materials flammable. Washing clothing and bedding may reduce this build-up but not totally remove it.
- Doublebase does contain some preservatives so there is a small risk of allergic reaction. For people with allergy prone skin, ointments such as Epaderm ointment are better. Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients listed.
- Avoid in the first 3 month of pregnancy. Do not use to the nipples if breastfeeding.
- Keep away from the eyes.
Ingredients
Carbomer, glycerol, isopropyl myristate, liquid paraffin, nicotinamide, phenoxyethanol, sorbitan laurate, trolamine, purified water.
Directions
Before use, turn the tip of the pump dispenser in the direction of the open arrow to unlock it. Gently smooth over and around all dry and/or inflamed areas three times daily or as often as required.
